Brook Guitars New Redesigned Website Now Live!

Brook Guitars Website

Mootzproductions are proud and honoured to redesign Brookguitars website. Brook guitars, makers of fine handmade guitars, are based in the heart Devon's West country.
They have produced some of the most beautiful guitars that I have ever seen.
The woods are generally sourced locally and each instrument individual, uniquely handcrafted to Brooks typical highest quality. Their guitars not only look beautiful but the many musicians own testaments can be read all over the Web, show that the sound quality and clarity that their guitars produce put Brook Guitars on the map as one of the top British guitar luthiers in my opinion.

Please take a look at their website to view a range of some of their guitar models available and made to order. Any model can be uniquely customised for the individual. The models are named after Westcountry rivers.

The News section displays the latest news and updates along with a news archive section which displays news each year going back more than a decade.

There are some downloadable pdf files for their occasional news feed 'The Babbling Brook' can be found at the bottom of the Home page.

This project has been especially enjoyable and a real pleasure to help Simon and Andy produce a platform to show the world some of the great instruments that they have made for many satisfied customers over the past twenty years or more.

We look forward to the customers feedback and for further updates to Brook Guitars website. The website can be seen at http://www.brookguitars.com

Brook Guitar Project Modelling in Blender Cycles

Here are some images of my attempt to model my Custom Brook Tamar acoustic guitar using Blender Cycles software. This is my first attempt and it has been a great learning curve for me and very enjoyable, frustrating and great fun indeed. Of course I would have done things a little differently and taken a slightly different approach the next time around. But overall I am quite pleased with the outcome.
Below are some screenshots as I progressed through the different stages of the modelling process.

If you wish to read more about this project please click the link here to go to our articles section.

FA-66: Audio: FireWire With Mac OSX

FA-66:  Audio: FireWire With Mac OSX

Roland Edirol FA-66:

I have been using the FA-66 Audio FireWire interface primarily with my Macbook Pro on the  OSX operating system with Logic Pro for over three years now.
It has been perfect for me because I am often mobile and on the road it has been robust and I have had no problems at all using this.

I love the solid metal case construction the build quality has proved the test of time. The Fa-66  has FireWire bus power. It has Zero-Latency Direct Monitoring which means that I can listen to audio being recorded directly without using any other software. The Direct Monitoring function allows the input to go straight to the output for zero-latency monitoring. The FA-66 also offers ultra low latency when monitoring through software or performing with software synths through the Apple CoreAudio driver.
The Edirol FA-66 has always been reliable and offered excellent audio .

FireWire Connection Perfect For Mobile Use.

It's great because whilst using this mobile it can be powered by connecting one FireWire (6-pin to 6-pin) cable to my laptop. There is also an option to ower the unit with an AC adaptor if need be.

My Bose L1 Series II PA System Easy To Setup

My Bose L1 Series II PA System Easy To Setup

Bose L1 Series II PA System

All In One Unit.

The main reason that I love the Bose L1 Model II is that it is an all in one innovative system, that replaces conventional monitors, mixers and PA speakers. This system provides astounding uniform sound coverage of nearly 180 degrees not only onstage but throughout an audience of up to several hundred, but here is the big plus, with little drop off in volume and tone quality.

Ease of setup.

The complete system can easily fit in to the boot of a car and is very compact and comes with special heavy duty custom padded carrying cases that are extremely durable. The great thing about this system is that there is minimal trailing leads, no spare cables and it is very straight forward to set up.

From the moment that I arrive at a gig the system can be completely set up and ready in less that five minutes. The complete system weighs 38.1 kg and could be carried back a forth on your own, in two trips which can be a big plus if you are working in some rough areas and don't want to take a risk of leaving equipment unattended for any length of time in a car or a van.

The speakers.

The 24 built in individual speakers are arranged using Articulated Array speaker technology in a slim, vertical enclosure—creating nearly 180 degrees of horizontal coverage and consistent tonal balance.

More info about this subject can be found in my article about the Bose L1 "Reasons Why I Love The Bose L1" Here

The Beatles Debut Black Gold Parlophone Please Please Me UK Press

 Beatles Black Gold Parlophone Label

EVERY beatles vinyl collectors dream is to one day own a copy of the original British Beatles debut album Please Please me with the rare gold and black Parlophone labled variation.
I have been a Beatles collector for more than 45 years and I have acumulated over 100 Beatles albums alone. I am fortunate that I own all of the earliest label variations of this album.
Here is a copy of the Beatles Please Please me. Black and Gold labels 2nd UK Pressing features the second label variation with the Nortnernn Songs Publishing credits for the tracks Plese Please Me, I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Do You Want To Know A secret, There's A Place,
I still have the original sleeve but it is in a terrible state so I have put another slightly later fourth pressing cover with this album.

Condition

There is general wear and tear with age and usage remember that this is now over 50 years old and this has obviously been played and enjoyed many times. The amaizing thing is that this is still a very playable and enjoyable record. Amazingly this plays through without any major problems very clear and vibrant and with out distortion. There is no skips or jumps which also makes this so desirable indeed. Any interference heard was in the form of the odd light clicks or ticks or light crackle here and there but nothing too terrible in my opinion. quite amazing really. They certainly knew how to make these records in those days..
.
Obviously this album is far from mint but still so desirable to have and own and very rare to find now days, especially in playable condition..
.

Make Me An Offer!

.

If you feel that you would like to own this very desirable and collectable copy of the original Beatles UK issue Gold And Black Parlophone Label Please Please Me. Then please make me a sensible offer!>Contact me here.
I have recorded the complete album for you to actually hear the audio in the player below. Photos are the actual photos of the album on offer. More details can be found in our online shop here. Please rate or comment?.

 Si Moutarde (MOOTZ212) Latest Tracks

I was born on a far away nearby planet, somewhere between now and then. Each decade my mind was fed with a different array of sounds, until eventually I was propelled to earth, with a mission to regurgitate the hip-hop, house, techno and weird electronic beats that had been melded into my brain into one coherent noise. At least that's how I remember it, my friends just think I partied too well. Either way I'm Si and I'm pleased to share my world of noise with you"

Why Native Instruments Massive VST/AU Sonic Monster?

Why Native Instruments Massive VST/AU Sonic Monster?

 Native Instruments VST/AU - Massive

As said on the Native Instrument website “Massive is a sonic monster, the ultimate synth for basses and leads...The high-end engine delivers pure quality, lending an undeniable virtue and character to even the most saturated of sounds”

Now, the question I tend to ask as a new user is... what can it do? Am I smart enough to get along with it? let me just say that Massive is a very ‘cool’ and easy to use piece of software! After all it had 600 ready to use presets to attempt to get bored with, but I would like to say that it is very difficult to get bored, even knowing you are flicking thru the work of another. And after all of that, Massive now contains over 1,300 sounds created by the leading artists and sound designers.

A lot of people tend spend a lot of time going thru presets, trying to connect their ideas to the sounds that they find within Massive. Most people will forget their original plan and become flooded with new ideas given to them from the vast sea of beautifully audible preset sounds, the good thing about Massive is the ability Native Instruments have given to the user to manipulate the perimeters of the sound to create a newly bred version of the original sound, using its ‘Macro Controls’ to carefully and precisely tinker with the sound and its individual parts to create a totally new one, no need to go on a year after year course... just twist the dial.

Not only is Massive a very useful tool to use within a studio environment I think that it is also very aesthetically pleasing piece of software, well laid out and easily learnt by new comers.
