The Plastic Ono Band John Lennon Live Peace In Toronto 1969

The Plastic Ono Band John Lennon Live Peace In Toronto 1969

This is a mid seventies second original issue. Vinyl looks only ever played one time. Near mint vinyl.

Live Peace in Toronto 1969 is a live album by the Plastic Ono Band, released on Apple in the UK and the US, in December 1969. Recorded at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival festival, it was the first live album released by any member of the Beatles separately or together. John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono received a phone call from the festival’s promoters John Brower and Kenny Walker, and then quickly assembled a band in a very short space of time to play at the festival, which was due to start the following day. The group had brief rehearsals before appearing on the stage to perform several songs; one of which—”Cold Turkey”—was first performed live at said festival. Eventually returning home, Lennon mixed the album in a day.

The Vinyl:
This is the original thick heavier chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the early pressings. On visual inspection I can’t see any needle scratches or indeed any marks that would cause any clicks or pops. Any marks that could possibly be seen anglerd in strong light would be light whyspy sleeve removal type only. The playing surface is lovely.

The Audio Quality:
I have played this vinyl at very loud volume prior to this listing on a top system.  The audio is cristal clear and vibrant through out no distortion or any signs of groove wear at all. I heard no clicks or pops during the play of this vinyl. Lovely sounding copy. Audio graded at near mint in my opinion.

The Matrix:
Side 1″CORE 2001 A-3″
Side 2″CORE 2001 B-2″

The Labels:
These are the original 1st issue Apple Labels: Any spidering can barely be seen angled to the light and there is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round in fact I can just barely see only one feint spindle mark only. This has obviously only had very minimal play in mt opinion.

The Record Sleeve:
This is the original plain white paper record sleeve light creasing, browning, becoming fragile with age only.

The Cover:
This is the original 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse flip back cover. Un-laminated. There are light creases to mention on the front this is nice and straight as it should be. no edge splits or tares. I would grade this at least excellent in my opinion.
