Beatles Magical Mystery Tour 1st UK Pressing Cat No.PCTC 255
The Cover:
This features the booklet firmly attached all pages clean and intact. Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse the earlier more matt cover than later issues. Visually the cover is near mint. Lovely cover square spine.
The record sleeve:
Original plain white sleeve patented.
The Matrix:
Side 1“YEX 949-1”
Side 2 “YEX 950-1”
The Vinyl:
The playing surface is clean I can’t see any major nasty needle scratches or indeed any marks that would cause any constant loud annoying clicks or pops any marks that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be light sleeve removal type grazes or scuffs minor light scratches may be seen. Visually graded at least excellent in my opinion.
The Audio Quality:
This plays clean clear and vibrant through out no distortion any static heard is isolated only in quiet places in the form of isolated odd tick or background ticks. I would grade this audio at better than excellent to excellent plus for the most part. Please allow for isolated ticks here and there, may be reduced with a clean before each play because this album has been stored for over 35 years or more. (It was noted that I could see debrit on the playing surface after play indicating that this will need cleaning well.) On the whole this is very clear and vibrant, enjoyable playable copy.
The Labels:
Feature the Parlophone labels clean both sides very minimal spidering and no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round.
Summery:
This would be the 1st issue to be released in the UK , early before bar codes were introduced to the covers. The cover is more mat than later pressings. Overall a clean album and complete with booklet.
