Another from my personal collection! This album was purchased from new when released in 1983 and never played until before this listing! Features the early A#2 B#2 The 2nd matrix variation with “TOWNHOUSE” Master pressers signatures stamped on both sides. The vinyl looks as new in my opinion. The vinyl has always been stored separated from the sleeve and cover to prevent wear or damage this is how I have always stored my records. The 1st issue cover is in stunning condition as described below. The album is an audio archive copy never need to upgrade from this 1st issue UK copy!
Actual recording from the vinyl:
Black Sabbath: Born Again: Side1.
Black Sabbath: Born Again: Side2.
The Matrix
Side1 “VERL 8 A#2”
Side 2 “VERL 8 B#2”
The labels
The original Custom Vertigo labels are in awesome condition! (These look as new condition in my opinion)! Amaizingly there is no spider marks or no signs that this has ever been played at all, even when angled to the light, and of coarse (no) spindle ware This has only ever been played one time by me only to play grade for this listing. So rare for an album that is over 35 years old! Impossible to find like this! very very collectable!
The vinyl
The vinyl is absolutely superbe! On initial visual inspection this looks like new Near As Mint in my opinion! and still retains its sheen from new and is free of any warping and lays flat on he turntable. (please note this vinyl has only ever been played by me personally one time! in the last 35 years this has been stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the sleeve and cover to prevent ring wear and damage This is how I have always stored my records In fact even when I look at the playing surface angled to a strong light I can’t see a blemish at all. There are no audio sounding marks or blemishes that I can see at all! This looks as un played in my opinion! Any marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only but again ,I find it hard to see any at all!
The Audio Quality
I have played this through track for track prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system! The moment the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious this vinyl has never been played at all in my opinion! The audio quality is as you would expect from a vinyl that has barely been played, superbe, TOP, TOP, TOP! crystal clear and extremely vibrant through out in fact this plays as a new vinyl would sound in my opinion! Points to note! It is easy to be critical about these early eighties pressings. Please note that this vinyl has been laying dormant in a case since I purchased it and will need a constant clean before each play to reduce any static or crackle. This played through as perfect as it gets unbelievable audio separation, that I haven’t heard like this before and stunning bassey feel throughout almost cd. quality on my systems! This vinyl has been stored separately from the cover in a poly sleeve for all of its storage life! This is the way I always have stores my records! The audio on this pressing in my opinion is almost as good as it gets for a very early and the 1st pressing! Even in between tracks this is almost quiet with just light static due to needing a constant cleaning in my opinion ! This is the I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl and 11th EVER ALBUM RELEASED by this awesome band ”black sabbath” and so hard to find early 1st pressings like this! Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to near as mint through out!
Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! That although I never heard any loud clicks or pops during the play of this record please allow for the odd static/ tick , certainly not consistent throughout the audio, but this is a genuine 30 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 35 year old system!
Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 35 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle\ticks! A constant clean before each play is recommended ! This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality! There was isolated light static tick heard which will be reduced if cleaned each time before play. The vinyl has only been ever played one time by me!
The Record Sleeve
This is the original 1st issue flimsy thin paper lyric record sleeve no splits or tears very light creasing only and has always ben stored separately from the vinyl for protection!
The Cover
This is the original and earliest 1st UK press un- laminated cover! These flimsy type 1st issue covers are very difficult to keep in good condition! There are no splits or tears! Rare to find without ring wear No nasty creases on the front or rear. In fact any storage wear or rubbing I find it hard to see any you have to really look for to notice in my opinion.(Note: There are some fine scratch/scuff marks noted at the rear of the cover but not really noticed unless looked for in my opinion) Very very rare and hard to find like this! Rare to find in this awesome condition super straight in general appearance (see photos) . All text is fully legible at the spine. Truly remarkable for 30 years old! I would grade the cover at least excellent plus to Very, very Near Mint in my opinion!
Audio Archive copy vinyl looks unplayed Collectors audio copy!
