Gun is a hard rock band from Glasgow, Scotland.
Originally called Blind Allez then for a short time, ‘Phobia’, GUN were formed in 1987 by Giuliano Gizzi (guitar) and Cami Morlotti (bass), with Mark Rankin (vocals), Alan Thornton (drums) and David Aitken (guitar). Signed in 1988 by A&M Records the band line-up changed after Thornton, Morlotti and Aitken parted company with them and new recruits Dante Gizzi, Scott Shields and Baby Stafford joined.[1] In the studio, Jim McDermott (Kevin McDermott Orchestra, Simple Minds and The Silencers), provided drums on the albums Taking On the World and Gallus. Debut album Taking On the World was also released this year.[1] Rankin’s cousin Sharleen Spiteri, of fellow Scottish band Texas and ex drummer Thornton contributed backing vocals to several songs on the album. The single “Better Days” from the album made the Top 40 in the UK Singles Chart.[1][2] Gun toured the US and supported The Rolling Stones on their European Urban Jungle Tour of 1990. Tours with Bon Jovi and Def Leppard followed shortly after.

The Vinyl:
This is the original thick heavier chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings. On visual inspection I can’t see any needle scratches or indeed any marks that would cause any clicks or pops. Any marks that could possibly be seen anglerd in strong light would be light whyspy sleeve removal type only. The playing surface is lovely.

The Audio Quality:
I have played this vinyl at very loud volume prior to this listing on a top system. Importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge. The audio is cristal clear and vibrant through out no distortion or any signs of groove wear at all. I heard no clicks or pops during the play of this vinyl. Lovely sounding copy. Audio graded at very near mint in my opinion.

The Matrix Endings:
Side 1″A-1-1-1″
Side 2″B-1-1-1″

The Labels:
These are the original 1st issue AM Labels:(correct for this early pressing) No spidering be seen angled to the light and there is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round.  This has obviously only had very minimal play in my opinion. looks totally unplayed.

The Record Sleeve:
This is the original plain white paper record sleeve  in lovely condition.

The Cover:
This is the original A&M RECORDS cover un  laminated. There are no real creases on the front to mention this is nice and straight as it should be. no edge splits or tares.  The rear is also lovely I would grade this at least excellent plus if not much better in my opinion.
