VANGUARD Records 1960 Blues release
John Paul Hammond (born November 13, 1942, New York City, United States) is an American blues singer and guitarist. The son of record producer John H. Hammond, he is sometimes referred to as “John Hammond, Jr.”.
Hammond is a son of the famed record producer and talent scout John Henry Hammond, Jr. and his first wife, Jemison McBride, an actress. He is a descendant of Cornelius Vanderbilt, founder of the prominent Vanderbilt family. He has a brother, Jason, and by his father’s second marriage to Esme O’Brien Sarnoff, he has a stepsister, (Esme) Rosita Sarnoff. Hammond’s middle name, Paul, is in honor of a friend of his father, the actor Paul Robeson. However, the younger Hammond was raised by his mother and only saw his father a few times a year while growing up.

The Vinyl:
On visual inspection I can’t see any needle scratches or indeed any marks that would cause any clicks or pops. Any marks that could possibly be seen anglerd in strong light would be light whyspy sleeve removal type only. The playing surface is lovely.
The Audio Quality:
I have played this vinyl at very loud volume prior to this listing on a top system. The audio is cristal clear and vibrant through out no distortion or any signs of groove wear at all. I heard no nasty loud clicks or pops during the play of this vinyl. Lovely sounding copy. Audio graded at least excellent plus to very near mint in my opinion.
The Matrix Endings:
Side 1″VSD 79178 -2E”
Side 2″VSD 79178 B”
The Labels:
These are the original VANGUARD Labels NO spidering can be seen angled to the light and there is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round. This has obviously only had very minimal play in my opinion LOOKS TOTALLY UNPLAYED.

This is the original plain white paper sleeve.

This is the original US printed laminated front only cover still has the original shrink wrap although obviousle it has been opened.
