Wishbone Ash Four 1st UK Press 1973 MCA

Wishbone Four is the fourth studio album by British rock band Wishbone Ash, released in 1973. It was a departure from their previous album, Argus, in that it lacked that recording’s overall cohesion and atmosphere and the loose conceptual framework of a stately, pastoral and warring medieval England. Containing only hints of the extended twin-lead guitar harmonies, Wishbone Four’s stylistic variety found its footing in acoustic folk elements in half of the eight-song set (“Ballad of the Beacon”, “Everybody Needs a Friend”, “Sorrel” and “Sing Out the Song”), two aggressive and melodic starters on each side of the vinyl release (Side 1: So Many Things to Say” and Side 2: “Doctor”), and the band’s first use of horns on the semi-autobiographical “rave-up” touring song “No Easy Road”.

The Vinyl:
This is the original thick heavier chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings. On visual inspection I can’t see any needle scratches or indeed any marks that would cause any clicks or pops. Any marks that could possibly be seen anglerd in strong light would be light whyspy sleeve removal type only. The playing surface is lovely.

The Audio Quality:
I have played this vinyl at very loud volume prior to this listing on a top system.  The audio is cristal clear and vibrant through out no distortion or any signs of groove wear at all. I heard no clicks or pops during the play of this vinyl. Lovely sounding copy. Audio graded at near mint in my opinion.

The Matrix:
Side 1″7-LNMG-279-1L”
Side 2″7-LNMG-280-1L”

The Mother Stampers:
Side 1 “1” “1”
Side 2 “1” “DD”

The Labels:
These are the original 1st issue Black MCA Labels:(correct for this early pressing) Any spidering can barely be seen angled to the light and there is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round. This has obviously only had very minimal play in mt opinion.

The Record Sleeve:
This is the original Decca record sleeve light creasing, browning, becoming fragile with age only.

The Cover:
This is the original 1st issue un laminated gate fold cover. There are no real nasty creases on the front to mention this is nice and straight as it should be. no edge splits or tares. The rear is also lovely.  I would grade this at least excellent plus to in my opinion.
